Selection
Any marketplace category determines where your product(s) will live on eBay. Start typing a keyword to select the most suitable marketplace category for any of your store categories.
IF there's no category assigned to your products in Shoppingfeed, products will be rejected.
Shoppingfeed supports all eBay marketplace categories except for eBay Motors.
Here's the list of available eBay categories.
Settings
Category-specific settings
By clicking on the dropping-down you'll see all your store categories and you can select any store category from the list.
Then you can make changes that will only affect that category e.g. Shipping options, Shipment origin, and a Message to be sent to each Buyer.
Manage Colors & Sizes
This mapping is pre-installed for our eBay channel. Do not make changes unless you were asked to do so. Changing this setting may cause listings to be removed from eBay.
It allows you to send proper variation drop-downs in your product listings. By default, this information is mapped to the dynamic fields {Autotag_color} and {Autotag_size}. These fields should be configured on the Manage Colors and Sizes page.
Product Condition
Use this setting to change the 'product condition' for the items you're selling on eBay. By default, products are listed on eBay as NEW. The condition USED can also be set from there.
If your products are not 'new' nor 'used', you can create a custom field and set a static value for Condition.
eBay accepts digits that represent product conditions. To determine the condition of the products you are selling, see here for a full list and the corresponding condition ID.
To set the condition to the appropriate condition value, follow the steps below.
- Go to Tools → Create new fields
- Create a new field called eBay Condition and fill its value with the appropriate condition value, and save.
- Map your newly created field to the condition field in your eBay Settings, and scroll down to click save.
Store Categories
Similar to a physical store, your eBay Store categories are the aisles and shelves that let you organize and display your items to buyers. By selecting the most appropriate category for your product, you’ll help buyers find your items in search results. You can assign your categories into two eBay categories.
Your Store Categories help your listing be found, and to help your viewers browse other products of yours quickly and easily. Set your Main Category using the drop-down, as well as your Secondary Category. These categories affect the default template, which helps display all your categories in the listing. Learn more about eBay categories here.
Templates
By default, the eBay channel lists your products using a basic eBay template automatically, helping your listings take on a more professional look. You can edit the template in preview mode (by default) or you can toggle to HTML mode to give you more editing capabilities.
Edit a template to be used for products in a specific category by using the dropdown to select the category of your choice. This is helpful when users want to write custom product information about an entire category, but not show this for other categories, as it would not be appropriate for all products.
Note: Always make sure to save your templates before switching to another category template.
You can insert {dynamic fields} into your eBay template. For instance, making your product weights and descriptions appear in your template is simple and easy to do. Click on All Usable Fields to see the product fields you can insert into the template, and simply write them into your template, making sure to use {braces} around the field. Preview your new template before saving it.
AutoTag
eBay Category Features are extra product data options, determined by the product category. To learn the available features for any given category, and the acceptable values you can use for them in AutoTag, the folks at Frooition have made a handy tool for your use.
