Cdiscount will soon deactivate the SOAP API, currently used to publish products on its platform, in favor of a REST API.
This new API has several advantages: it is more modern and offers compatibility with all sales channels using Octopia. It also supports the latest features available on this marketplace solution.
Starting from the end of March 2025, CDiscount's SOAP APIs will be gradually deactivated, starting with the least impactful APIs, such as those for product creation, and ending with the order management APIs in summer 2025.
Migrating is imperative if you wish to continue selling your products on Cdiscount. Not migrating means interrupting all activity on the marketplace. Connecting to a new platform named Cdiscount_Octopia will therefore be necessary.
Shoppingfeed has set up migration tools to facilitate this by copying selections, rules, and the settings of categories and attributes. Once you have retrieved your REST API credentials, the migration takes only 5 minutes on Shoppingfeed, saving time on configuration.
Preliminary Steps
Here is the procedure to retrieve your Client ID, Client Secret, and Seller ID:
https://developer.octopia-io.net/getting-started/.
These three elements are essential to connect to the new platform.
- Go to the Octopia API portal: https://developer.octopia-io.net/api-credentials/#createClientAndLink and select the option “My aggregator requires a ClientId, ClientSecret and SellerId”:
- Create your own ClientId by providing a valid email address:
- Retrieve your Client ID and Client Secret. These elements are not provided again, so we strongly recommend saving them:
- Seller identification: confirm the seller account on which the connection should be made.
- Delegation validation: a delegation request is necessary for Shoppingfeed to have the required rights on the Cdiscount_Octopia account. At the end of the process, a confirmation will be requested: this is mandatory for the connection between both parties to function.
- Retrieve the credentials: client ID, Client Secret, Seller ID which will be requested when connecting Cdiscount_Octopia on Shoppingfeed.
Connect Octopia
From the platforms tab, search for "Octopia" in the list of available marketplaces and add the platform with this link: https://app.shopping-feed.com/
Then, enter the connection details: client ID, client Secret and Seller ID.
Migrate Cdiscount data to Cdiscount Octopia
From the Cdiscount_Octopia platform in the “Settings” tab, several actions are required to duplicate as much of your previous Cdiscount configuration as possible.
- Duplicate product selection from Cdiscount to Cdiscount_Octopia:
- Duplicate categories, attributes, and mapping parameters from Cdiscount to Cdiscount_Octopia:
This duplication is not dynamic and works at a specific point in time. It can be repeated as many times as needed and includes:
- copying assigned categories (from the "Selection" tab) from Cdiscount to Cdiscount_Octopia.
- copying attributes (from the "
