Prerequisites for product creation:
KYC
As with many other platforms, TEMU requires identity verification through a KYC process. This step may take time, so we recommend completing it as soon as possible. Make sure your merchant profile is complete in the Seller Center and that the required legal documents (KYC) are validated. This will notably allow you to confirm the validity of your TEMU store.
Logistics
TEMU is currently available in many European countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Cyprus. It is recommended to maintain the same shipping lead times for all these countries.
Several logistics management options are available to you, such as using your own warehouse or relying on TEMU logistics solutions. From the Seller Center, also remember to configure your shipping templates according to the selected transport methods.
The shippingTemplate must be reported on your product listings via Shoppingfeed. Enter the name of your shipping method, as created on Temu, in the "Mapping" section of Shoppingfeed.
Brand registration
Brand registration is done in the Temu interface under "Products > Brands & Intellectual Property > Register Trademark". This step is required in order to publish your products on Temu:
GPSR compliance data registration
This is done via the menu "Temu > Performance > Account health> Responsible person".
Registering a responsible person is mandatory in the Temu back office for the relevant products. As a reminder, this applies to any product sold in the EU, imported from outside the EU, and/or subject to safety or compliance requirements (electrical, toys, cosmetics, etc.).
The responsible person must then be added to the product listings and filled in on Shoppingfeed via the "Mapping" tab (field responsiblePersonName).
Manufacturer
The manufacturer, if applicable, must be created in the Temu interface under the menu "Temu > Performance > Account health> Manufacturer". The manufacturer must then be added to the product listings and filled in on Shoppingfeed via the "Mapping" tab (field Manufacturer).
Feed setup in Shoppingfeed:
Mapping
After connecting your TEMU store to your Shoppingfeed account, start configuring your feeds via the "Mapping" tab. Most fields are already filled in by default. Below are a few additional details to help you with the setup:
| Field name | Note |
| name | [required] - your product name. |
| description | your product description - may contain HTML and a maximum of 2000 characters. |
| quantity | [required] - available stock quantity. |
| price.basePrice.amount | [required] - Amount (excluding VAT) that will be paid to you by TEMU. |
| price.list.Price.amount | [optional] - recommended retail price; if provided, it must be strictly higher than basePrice.amount |
| price.basePrice.currency | [required] - the currency of your offer - sent by default if "basePrice.amount" is filled in. |
| price.listPrice.currency | required and sent by default if list.Price.amount is filled in. |
| weight | [required] - your product weight - must be an integer greater than 1. |
| weightUnit | [required] - allowed value: g. |
Note: TEMU does not support HTML format.
Focus on Pricing
TEMU uses a pricing and commission model that is slightly different from other marketplaces. It combines a traditional commission model with a dropshipping-like model, where you define a B2B selling price, and the distributor sets the final retail price.
The {price.basePrice.amount} field represents the amount (excluding VAT) that TEMU will pay you for each transaction. The final consumer price is then calculated from this amount by adding TEMU’s margin and VAT.
Categories
From the "Selection" tab, match your categories with the marketplace categories:
Tip: feel free to use our Ailice artificial intelligence to automatically map categories. You will then need to validate the results in the menu on the left, under the Ailice tab.
Attributes
Now go to the "Autotag" tab to fill in the required and optional attributes needed to create your products on the marketplace. Make sure all required attributes (marked in red) are correctly mapped/filled in.
Also feel free to fill in some optional attributes to boost your sales and the visibility of your products.
Variation management
Like other recent marketplaces, Temu uses the notion of "Sale attribute" to designate the variation attribute (i.e., the “selling” attribute). For each product family, you must indicate which attribute(s) are the variation attribute(s) in the fields named: "Sale attribute 1" and "Sale attribute 2". Temu defines, depending on the product category, whether variations can be created and which type of variation is allowed.
Example: you sell table linens available in color variations, you must assign the value "Color [1001]" to the Sale attribute 1 field, then fill in the color variation value in the Color attribute:
Size chart management
Note that the size chart (sizeChart) concept is an attribute available depending on the category. For this attribute, the marketplace expects a hosted image URL. When the attribute is present, it is usually mandatory:
Brand
The brand attribute "Brand" is mapped by default to your brand field. When exporting data to Temu, Shoppingfeed will retrieve the brand identifier in order to link it to existing brands on Temu.
Description
This attribute expects descriptive product content with a maximum of 2000 characters.
Preparation Time
This attribute expects a numeric value between 1 and 2 only.
Focus on Compliance Attributes
On TEMU, certain products require the configuration of compliance attributes in order to meet local regulations (particularly European regulations, e.g., GPSR). These attributes may include information such as the “responsible person” (the responsible person within the EU), the manufacturer, product safety details, or supporting documentation.
Not all compliance fields are exposed via the API. Depending on the product category, some information will therefore need to be completed directly within the TEMU Seller Center interface, under Performance / Account Health, or while editing the product listing.
It is important to verify these elements before publishing, as missing or incorrect compliance attributes may block the listing or cause export errors.
For the fields that are retrievable via the API, you can identify them in Shoppingfeed by the mention “(compliance attribute)”:
Tip: feel free to use Ailice to make your category mapping and Autotag setup easier!
Product specification attributes (such as sales attributes) and compliance-related attributes are particularly sensitive.
When configuring them, make sure to provide accurate and final data. Once submitted, this information is stored in TEMU’s system and cannot be modified.
If any changes are required, the only option is to delete and recreate the product.
- Sending the Feed
From the “Selection” tab, select the products or categories you wish to send to TEMU using three levels of options:
- Select or deselect all products
- Select or deselect all products within a category
- Select or deselect each product individually
To delete a product, it must be removed directly from the TEMU back office. Deselecting the product in Shoppingfeed will only deactivate the offer by sending the stock quantity to 0 (it will not result in a complete deletion).
Finish by triggering the first feed export using the “Update” button. TEMU will then review your products, provided they are correctly configured. If any products contain errors, you can review them in the “Error Investigator” tab.
