Etsy Channel Setup
When connecting the Etsy channel in Shoppingfeed you will be asked to Allow Access to your Etsy Seller Account/Etsy Shop.
Then you will be prompted to complete the Setup/Categorization page before actually being able to access the Etsy channel dashboard.
It takes Etsy around 6-12 hours on average to completely create a new listing. Note: It may also take up to 24 hours for listings to be indexed into search results and categories.
Field Mapping
In the Field Mapping tab, you can modify the default values that are being sent to Etsy for the following Etsy attributes below:
- is_supply (per Etsy: Are you sending a finished product or is it a supply or tool?)
supported values: "1" or "0"
By default, we are sending the value '1' (aka Yes, my product is a supply or a tool)
If you are actually sending 'Finished' types of products on Etsy then choose a Static Field option, paste '0' and then save mapping by hitting the 'Modify Mapping' button. - who_made supported values: "collective" or "i_did"
By default, we will be sending the value 'collective' so if need be you can choose a Static field option, then type the value 'i_did' and then save mapping by hitting the 'Modify Mapping' button. - when_made supported values: "made_to_order, 2020_2022, 2010_2019, 2002_2009, before_2002, 2000_2001, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s, 1940s, 1930s, 1920s, 1910s, 1900s, 1800s, 1700s, before_1700"
By default, we will be sending the value "made_to_order".
And if it isn't a suitable option, then choose the Static Field option, paste the most suitable value from the supported values and then save mapping by hitting the 'Modify Mapping' button. - tags (aka Etsy Keywords)
By default, we will not be sending any values for tags. However, you can map your Shopify's {tags} field for your Etsy Tags or you can define some Static values. - materials
Materials may only contain letters, digits and spaces or underscores.
Order Importing & Inventory updates
As soon as an order is placed on the marketplace, we will typically import that order back to your Shopify admin within 15-35 minutes; depending on the server queue as well.
Once the order is imported back to Shopify, it's up to Shopify to deduct the appropriate amount that was ordered. You may go about your standard fulfilment process. Any tracking/shipping info entered into that order will be shuttled back to your Etsy seller account deeming the Order as shipped.
However, in terms of inventory, you would need to wait for the next automatic Source Feed update cycle in order for us to send that updated quantity data to Etsy. FYI: Automated Etsy channel updates are made for you every 6 hours on average.
Note: Full and/or Partial Refunds are not supported via Shoppingfeed (not available in their API) and should be handled via the seller account.
Etsy Limitations/Restrictions:
- Manual Updates are not available for the Etsy channel. Etsy Channel Updates are made for you automatically every 6 hours on average.
- Etsy does not allow HTML Tags in Product Descriptions. So, if you do not like your Product Descriptions on Etsy, you can always edit them manually via your Etsy seller account.
-
When we create listings with variations on Etsy they are created with a single Drop-down option.
By default, we combine the Color(Variation attribute_1) - Size(Variation attribute_2) variants together. For example: In your online store you have a T-shirt with two Color options (Black & White) and two Sizes (S & M).
On Etsy, the listing will have a single drop-down and present the following options to a Buyer:
Etsy only allows up to 20 characters in the 'combined' (Size-Color) dropdown option. - The maximum quantity per product is 999 on Etsy. If it has 1000> for quantity - Etsy will reject it;
- Product ID/SKU should not be longer than 32 characters;
- We don't send SKUs for standalone items;
- Etsy can only process up to 70 variations for one given product. If you have more than 70 variants for a product enabled, Etsy will reject such a product.
- Your images should be at least 1000 pixels wide, the height can vary. JPEG is the image format that Etsy likes.
