Kaufland is a general German marketplace open to all online merchants. A wide variety of products are sold there, including electronics, toys, gardening and DIY items, as well as furniture and fashion products.
A. Open YOUR KAUFLAND ACCOUNT
You can open an account directly on the Kaufland website here:
If you have any questions, feel free to contact their support team directly at: sell@real-marketplace.de (English only).
What are Kaufland’s requirements?
- You must have a German VAT number
- EAN codes are mandatory
However, it is not required to have a company registered in Germany or physical premises in the country.
B. CONNECT TO SHOPPINGFEED
Once you have opened a Shoppingfeed DE account (check with our sales team: contact@shopping-flux.com) and have your Kaufland account, you can proceed to connect the two.
Search for the platform “Kaufland (real)” on the homepage of your account (https://app.shopping-feed.com/Real) and click on it:
You will then need to provide the following two credentials:
- Kaufland app client key
-
Kaufland app client secret
You can find these credentials in your Kaufland account here:
https://www.real.de/seller/apisettings/
Please note that the marketplace only allows you to access your credentials once, for data security reasons. Additionally, Shoppingfeed no longer displays your credentials once they are saved, but you can renew the authorization if needed, whenever you wish.
C. PLATFORM SETUP
Two very important and mandatory elements must be filled in via the “Mapping” tab of the platform:
https://app.shopping-feed.com/real/mapping
- shipping_group: first create it in the Kaufland back office, then enter it in Shoppingfeed.
You can create the shipping_group from the Kaufland back office here:
https://www.real.de/seller/shipping-groups/
via Settings > Navigation Settings. The “Shipping_option” defines your shipping policy. You can choose to assign the same shipping group to all your products or use a dynamic field.
warehouse: first create it in the Kaufland back office, then enter it in Shoppingfeed.
You can create the warehouse from the Kaufland back office here: https://sellerportal.kaufland.de/warehouse_settings/
under Warehouse Settings.
For these two fields, you can, of course, choose to use dynamic data by using the “Create Fields” and “Find/Replace” tools.
D. PRODUCT CREATION
For this platform, proceed as usual by selecting your products and categorizing them via the “Selection” tab, then fill in the required attributes via the “Autotag” tab.
You can check that your products have been properly integrated from your Kaufland account here:
https://www.real.de/seller/product-data-report/ by requesting to generate reports.
This will allow you to download a report on the status of your products. Please note that once products are accepted, their creation on the Kaufland marketplace can take up to 24 hours.
Additionally, if you want to check the products available on Kaufland for your store, you can go to the “My Offers” section: https://sellerportal.real.de/offers/
You can also use the store view (located in the top left corner of the Kaufland back office):
Be careful to correctly identify which categories of your products fall under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) / WEEE regulations (electronics, batteries, packaging, etc.)—consult Kaufland if needed.
For each category, you must register with the appropriate organization (e.g., Citeo for packaging, Ecologic / Soren for EEE, etc.). Once your registration is approved, the organization will issue you an IDU, which can take 6 to 8 weeks after all documents are submitted.
Finally, in your Kaufland back office under Store Settings → EPR Compliance, enter the IDU numbers for each category.
E. ERROR REPORT
Please note that you will only see “blocked by Shoppingfeed” errors for product creation issues, as Kaufland reports are generated only on request (more information can be found in the “Product Creation” section).
