Since January 1, 2022, marketplaces fall within the scope of the AGEC Law, for which here is the official page.
The law requires platforms to comply with the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (REP), including:
- Third-party sellers must provide the unique REP identifiers issued by ADEME for the product categories offered for sale, including their packaging. If the third-party seller is not the producer within the meaning of REP, their own supplier provides this unique identifier upon request (cf. L.541-10-10 of the Environmental Code).

Furthermore, the law states that:
The obligation of REP implies joining an eco-organization, making a financial contribution to it for the prevention and management of waste from these products, and having minimal information on the products sold to declare to the eco-organization.

Attention, since June 2023, Mirakl has updated the format of fields related to the AGEC Law in the format of offer feeds.
For Mirakl AGEC v1 functionality, the fields were numbered as follows:
- producer-id-1 / eco-contribution-amount-1
Since v2, the fields have the name of the relevant sector:
- producer-id-FR-DEA / eco-contribution-amount-FR-DEA
This allows you to identify which field to choose for which sector (or type of tax).
The fields are used as in the previous version:
- producer-id is a product identifier,
- eco-contribution-amount is a tax amount expressed in €.
It is possible to fill in a producer-id without an eco-contribution-amount and vice versa for the same sector. For example, you can have a mapping as follows for the same sector:
- with only a producer-id
producer-id-FR-AGROPACK = 12345
eco-contribution-amount-FR-AGROPACK = empty - with only an eco-contribution-amount
producer-id-FR-AGROPACK = empty
eco-contribution-amount-FR-AGROPACK = 0.90 - with both values filled
producer-id-FR-AGROPACK = 12345
eco-contribution-amount-FR-AGROPACK = 0.90
Important points to remember:
1. Data related to eco-contributions (especially producer-id) can be entered on Mirakl at the level of your shop settings, via the section: "My account > Settings > circular economy".
2. If you enter data in Shoppingfeed, it will overwrite the data entered on Mirakl: in essence, the most specific level (in this case, the offer) takes precedence over the settings for all offers in the shop (on Mirakl).
3. It is the marketplace that activates or deactivates a sector (FR-DEA, for example). Shoppingfeed displays all possible sectors on Mirakl.
4. The list of sectors activated by the marketplace is listed on your Mirakl back office under "My Account > Settings > Circular Economy > Add an identifier." There you will find the correspondence between the codes and the labels.
