Some platforms have specific requirements regarding the management of variant products. They may require, for example, grouping variant products based on color.
If you have unique products (or non-variant products in terms of color, for example) in your ecommerce system and, therefore, in your source feed, some platforms may ask you to group these distinct products under a common "parent."
In this case, the ideal scenario is to create these future variations from your back office and, consequently, your source feed. This would be the cleanest approach. However, this will have an impact on your site and your previous publications on other platforms. If this is a blocking point, it is possible from Shoppingfeed, for some platforms, to create this parent.
Here is the list of platforms for which creating a parent would be possible, by going to the "Autotag" tab and modifying the following attributes:
- Rue du Commerce: "Code de regroupement articles" attribute
- Redoute: "ProductId" attribute (invisible)
- Bleu Bonheur: "Variant Id" attribute
- Camif: "Identifiant du Variant" attribute
- Grenier Alpin: "Déclinaison" attribute
- Intermarché: "Parent_sku" attribute
- VidaXL: "VariantId" attribute
- BHV: "sellerProductId" attribute
- MaisonsDuMonde: "Groupe code variant" attribute
- Leclerc: "Code Parent" attribute
- GoSport: "Sku Famille" attribute
- Distriartisan: "variant_group_code" attribute
- Leroymerlin: "Code parent" attribute
By default, these attributes are filled with the {parent_reference} field, which takes the parent reference from your source feed. If you don't have one, this field is empty, and the attribute is also empty.
You will need to replace this field with a common value for each group of articles. The goal is to have the same value for the articles you want to group together.
Example:
I sell a red t-shirt in 3 sizes.
Each size has a unique reference. I haven't created any variations.
Red t-shirt size L = reference 1234-L
Red t-shirt size M = reference 1234-M
Red t-shirt size S = reference 1234-S
The grouping code for these articles could be "1234," as it is shared by each of these products.
It's up to you to decide the best way to enter this data:
- Manually entering it for each reference in the "Autotag" attribute (feasible if it concerns few references).
- Creating rules to replace the existing {parent_reference} field with the desired value. (This can be considered if it's a mass action. In this case, you'll need to find common points between your products).
The Shoppingfeed customer service is available to guide you through these actions if needed.
