There are two main types of updates that Shoppingfeed performs in order to push the most up-to-date product data from your storefront over to channels/marketplaces.
Source Feed update is a call between your storefront and Shoppingfeed. This is when we're pulling updated product data from your storefront (Shopify, Magento, Prestashop) since the previous update.
We update your Source Feed 4-5 times a day automatically, by default. You can request more frequent updates by contacting your account manager.
You can call for the Source Feed update manually if you ever wish to have the changes you made in your storefront reflected in your Shoppingfeed account as soon as possible. You can do that by accessing the Catalog page and clicking the ‘Force update’ button.
Channel Update happens once your automatic Source Feed update has been completed. Shoppingfeed sends an update to the channels/marketplaces where we are helping you list your products. We send an update with the information we just pulled from your storefront. This way, we can keep your channel listings in sync with the product data that you have in your storefront.
There is also a possibility to make a manual call between Shoppingfeed and your channels/marketplaces in case you want to send an update as soon as possible.
Go to a specific channel’s dashboard and hit the button up at the top-right corner of the page.
You can easily check the status of each update in the Timeline by clicking on a ‘Bell’ symbol at the bottom-left corner of the Shoppingfeed screen.
