This feature complements the "Default Autotag Mapping" tab.
How It Works
When a marketplace attribute is mapped to a catalog field in the "Default Autotag Mapping" tab, this feature allows you to map your catalog field values to the marketplace's accepted attribute values.
If the same marketplace attribute and catalog field are used across multiple categories, the value mapping is automatically applied to all of those categories, provided the marketplace attribute uses the same list of accepted values. This means you only need to perform the value matching once.
Examples
- Standard case: You map the {material} field to the Material attribute for the "Table" category (accepted values: Wood, Metal, Stone). After completing the value matching, if you map the same {material} field to the Material attribute for the "Chair" category (using the same list of accepted values), the value matching will be automatically pre-filled.
- Different value list: If you map the {material} field for the "Pants" category, but the Material attribute has a different list of accepted values (for example, Denim, Linen, Velvet), you'll need to perform the value matching again.
Objectives
This feature is designed to:
- Replace attribute formatting rules that are currently used to adapt catalog values to marketplace requirements.
- Replace the existing value matching features for Brand, Size, and Color.
- Provide better visibility into the number of values that need to be matched during setup, as well as highlight any new values that need to be matched later.
Workflow
- Once the required conditions are met, a "Match Values" button appears in the new "Matching" column of the "Default Autotag Mapping" tab.
- Clicking this button opens a side panel displaying your catalog values.
- From there, you can map each catalog value to the corresponding marketplace attribute value using a drop-down menu.
