What is a custom export?
A custom export allows you to generate an XML or CSV file with information from your source feed or data created/modified using Shoppingfeed.
What is the purpose of a custom export?
A custom export can be useful in several scenarios, but it's primarily a tool for formatting your product catalog information.
For example, you can create a custom feed for a platform not yet integrated with Shoppingfeed or easily gather information from your feed to create a mapping file for certain marketplaces.
This tool allows you to visualize your information, utilize your data, and transmit it to any of your partners.
Where can I create a custom export?
You can create a custom export under Channels > Custom Feeds > Creating Export:
How to create a custom export:
1. Name your custom export.
2. Choose the format of your custom export (XML, CSV, or TXT) and the available options.
For an XML format, you'll need to provide the name of the parent field, which is the main tag of the XML feed that will appear between each of your product references (for example, "product").
3. Drag and drop the fields you need for your export from the left side into the white area in the middle.
Then, click on the blue "Save Export" button. Well done, your export has been successfully created.
Next, go to "Channels" > "Custom Feeds", and click on the orange "Manage" button;
You will be able to modify your export at any time by clicking on the "Modify" button, or delete it by clicking on the "Delete" button.
How to Manage Your Custom Export
In the "Selection" tab, choose the products you want to add to your custom export.
From the "Settings" tab, you can check the boxes for various settings offered, including the ability to select, if necessary, in your custom export, child products (variants) as well as your products that have a stock of 0.
At the top right of the different tabs, you always have the "Update" button. This is what allows you to force the update of your custom export (for your information, it updates automatically each time your source feed is retrieved).
From the "Field Mapping" tab, you can modify the mapping.
Finally, you can view or download your custom export from the Settings page, just below the text: "Source feed".
